Dear Customer,
We are pleased to announce the successor to Delta Elektronika’s first generation SM 6000, the SM6K. The new SM6K series brings the 6kW range onto the same bidirectional, regenerative, and constant-power architecture and modular interface concept as the SM15K, while updated electronics improve temperature coefficient, long-term stability, minimum sink voltage and Ethernet connectivity. This announcement introduces the new SM6K series, summarizes the key specifications, announces the end of production of the SM6000 series, and outlines the transition.
The SM6K Series
The SM6K is a power supply series featuring bidirectional and constant-power output. It contains all standard functions of the SM15K series, such as Ethernet control, digital control, function blocks and more. Like the SM15K and SM3300, the SM6K provides four slots that are compatible with the ANYBUS pluggable extension modules. This enables a modular approach to extending functionality and interfacing capabilities, such as high-performance Master/Slave operation and a diverse choice of industrial automation protocols.

The SM6K is the 6kW counterpart to the SM15K and incorporates new and improved technology. Compared to the SM15K, the SM6K offers a better temperature coefficient and long-term stability, a lower minimum sink voltage (on the low-voltage model) and a 1 Gbit Ethernet interface. The SM6K will be launched with a renewed software architecture, starting with the same user experience as the SM15K. This new software architecture will enable future software developments.
The SM6K continues the Delta DNA and improves upon the SM6000 with excellent efficiency, dynamics, low ripple, low EMI, excellent EMC, great reliability and the well-known user-friendly UI paired with low audible noise.
In terms of programming speed, the SM6K is significantly faster than a standard SM6000. Only an SM6000 equipped with the high-speed programming option can match the fastest step times specified for the SM6K.
The production of the SM6000 series will stop in February 2026. Please place last orders for the SM6000 series as soon as possible, so that we can plan production accordingly until February. Currently, a finite stock of SM6000 models and spare parts is being built. After production stops, orders can be placed as long as stock lasts.
The new generation of 6kW power supplies, the SM6K, will offer many more capabilities and functionality than its predecessor, the SM6000 series, at a strongly reduced form factor. This eases integration into existing systems.

Based on the output range, the following SM6K models replace the listed SM6000 models in the table below. Because of the constant-power characteristic, each SM6K model typically covers multiple SM6000 voltage/current combinations.

All SM6000 interface options have an equivalent or extended function in the SM6K interface module family. An example of possible interfacing replacements is shown in the table below.
