AC Sources

Programmable AC sources and frequency converters, including 400 Hz aircraft ground power.

Supplying power and testing against a standard are different purchases. A source that holds nominal beautifully may be unable to run a single transient clause, and no amount of headroom compensates for the absence of programmability.

The range here runs from bench units through cabinet systems to regenerative grid simulators, including 400 Hz work for aerospace and defence.

Choosing between them

Size on peak, not RMS

Transient envelopes reach well above nominal. A source chosen on steady-state headroom will clip the surge, and a clipped surge is a different, easier test.

Ask about reverse energy

Motor-type equipment pushes energy back. Not every source tolerates it, and for actuator or drive work this is pass/fail rather than preference.

Fixed or programmable frequency

Variable-frequency platforms need a programmable range and a programmable rate of change, not a source that happens to reach the endpoints.
