IEC 61000-4-29 DC Input Immunity Testing

A single programmable DC power supply is an accepted generator architecture (Annex A, Figure A.2) — provided it holds 0.5–50 µs voltage-change edges into 100 Ω, sinks as well as sources peak inrush current to 220 A, keeps at least 20 % steady-state current margin over the EUT, and can present a genuine high-impedance output for interruptions: disconnecting, not merely programming 0 V, so the EUT cannot back-feed the gap.

This standard turns on

  • voltage dips and interruptions on DC input ports
  • high- versus low-impedance interruption modes
  • durations in absolute seconds, not mains cycles — the DC counterpart of IEC 61000-4-11

And says nothing about

  • ripple on the DC port — IEC 61000-4-17's job
  • AC input ports — IEC 61000-4-11's job
  • transient overvoltages injected by network faults — explicitly out of scope
  • pass/fail severity selection — deliberately left to product committees
