IEC 61000-4-29 DC Input Immunity Testing
Revision Edition 2.0, 2026-07 (published 30 July 2026), replaces Edition 1.0:2000
A single programmable DC power supply is an accepted generator architecture (Annex A, Figure A.2) — provided it holds 0.5–50 µs voltage-change edges into 100 Ω, sinks as well as sources peak inrush current to 220 A, keeps at least 20 % steady-state current margin over the EUT, and can present a genuine high-impedance output for interruptions: disconnecting, not merely programming 0 V, so the EUT cannot back-feed the gap.
This standard turns on
- voltage dips and interruptions on DC input ports
- high- versus low-impedance interruption modes
- durations in absolute seconds, not mains cycles — the DC counterpart of IEC 61000-4-11
And says nothing about
- ripple on the DC port — IEC 61000-4-17's job
- AC input ports — IEC 61000-4-11's job
- transient overvoltages injected by network faults — explicitly out of scope
- pass/fail severity selection — deliberately left to product committees
