Replacing the NH Research 9300
High-power regenerative battery test system.
What happened to it
NH Research was absorbed by NI, then Emerson. nhresearch.com now redirects to a generic ni.com page that never names the 9300. Search results are dominated by resellers and rental houses.
The substitution that goes wrong
The 9300 was specified into a lot of pack-level programmes on channel architecture rather than headline power. Matching the total kW and missing the per-channel current is the substitution that fails at commissioning.
Specifications to match
- Total system power and, separately, power per channel
- Voltage window at the top and bottom of your pack range
- Discharge current sustained, not peak
- Regeneration efficiency and grid-tie interconnection terms

Where this one stops
The CTS4000 is an eight-channel cycler, not a like-for-like swap for a high-power regenerative system. If the 9300 was doing pack-level work at its top end, the honest comparison is the Procyon rather than the CTS4000, and the answer depends on whether you need channel count or channel size.
